A Minnesota native, Dr. Knapp came West to attend the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating with Distinction in 1987. In addition to general optometry, she has had extensive training in Low Vision Rehabilitation, Geriatric, and Pediatric care. Dr. Knapp also co-manages LASIK and cataract patients and is certified to treat ocular diseases.
Dr. Knapp has long been involved with many community programs and service clubs here in Oxnard including Boys and Girls Club, Soroptimists, Child Development Resources (Former Board Member), Oxnard Chamber of Commerce, and the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and Tri-County Optometric Society (Former Board Member).
Dr. Knapp has also volunteered her time to provide pre-school and elementary school eye screenings, helping to detect any problems early on and ensure efficient learning. She also participates in the “Mommy and Me” program at St. John’s Hospital, which provides important information to new mothers regarding their baby’s eyes.
Speaking of Mommy, Dr. Knapp is the proud mother of three boys and enjoys spending family time with them which includes many outings and sporting events.
